Simon Devitt

Simon's career is marked by a deep connection to place and community, evident in his acclaimed photo-books like 'Rannoch' and the 'All Things Considered' series. His images, featured in prestigious publications worldwide, blend architectural precision with a human touch, often integrating local residents to convey scale and context.

 

Beyond photography, Simon's influence extends to academia, having lectured at the University of Auckland and initiated the annual Simon Devitt Prize for Photography. With exhibitions globally and representation in Milan, Simon Devitt continues to inspire through his lens, capturing moments that resonate across borders and cultures.

 

Simon has also kindly donated his current publication ‘Cape to Bluff’ which has just been released worldwide through Thames and Hudson.

Mark Bolland

Mark Bolland is a Principal Lecturer in Photography and Art History & Theory at Dunedin School of Art, Otago Polytechnic, Te Kura Matatini ki Otago. Since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2004 he has divided his time between teaching, writing and art practice. He has written essays for books and exhibition catalogues as well as many articles for journals and magazines. He has exhibited photographs in both the UK and New Zealand.
